St. Patrick’s Day Door Hangers
I saw these St. Patrick’s Day Door Hangers at the Dollar Tree and they were just calling to me! I had the sudden urge to take them home and spruce them up, so that is exactly what I did.

I started by ripping off the raffia bow. I then went around the burlap fabric with my cordless hot glue gun and a mix of gold glitter, both fine and chunky. I could have used a glitter hot glue stick but didn’t think of it until after I had finished.
Once the glitter was adhered, I selected the faux flowers I wanted to use and cut the wire stems off to the desired length.
I hot glued the flowers into place but thought it needed something more. I decided to use some wired ribbon to make a bow. I cut two pieces of 1.5 inch black and white buffalo plaid wired ribbon to the same length and one a bit longer, as well as one piece of ribbon with shamrocks on it to the same length as the two.

I folded the pieces in half to create a crease, then unfolded it and folded each end to the center line and secured it with hot glue. With the black and white pieces I made an X and added the shamrocks on top to create a * then tied them together with the longer piece of black and white ribbon and secured it in the back with a knot. I cut the ends of the ribbon into a V and used a lighter to burn the edges to prevent fraying.
Since the ribbon was all wired I then was able to easily arrange the loops the way I wanted to create a voluminous festive bow. I then securely hot glued the bow above the flowers and the door hanger was ready to welcome the luck of the Irish to our home!
