Sweet Willow June

After much contemplation and many names thrown around, we landed on Willow June.  Willow is named after the street Travis and I met on (at Loring Kitchen and Bar) and first lived on together.  Her middle name, June,  is her birth and our wedding anniversary month.

Willow is an 8 ½ week old chocolate lab.  Right now she weighs about 6 ½ pounds, has blue eyes, and sharp little nails and teeth.  Her big brother Clarence was very unsure of her at first, a little grumpy about it actually,  but is slowly learning that sharing everything also means he has a friend to play with all the time!  Willow and Clarence enjoy taking eachothers toys, wrestling, and playing tug of war.  Willow also likes to tug and bite on Clarence’s beard, and while he has been tolerating it quite well he has requested a haircut as soon as possible.

*For my friends reading this thinking “I can’t believe Brittan got another dog!” I hear you! Growing up I was terrified of dogs to the point I’d avoid places or not get out of the car if there was a dog in someone's driveway.  Travis grew up loving and having ALL kinds of animals, so we had to meet in the middle.  He kindly agreed to let me start with a small dog (Yorkie was the specific breed I requested) if I would agree to letting him get a bigger dog if things went well and when the time was right.  Clarence quickly became the joy of our lives and now that we have the land, the time was right for sweet Willow June to enter our family!
