DIY Minion Eye
My friend’s daughter recently turned eight, for her birthday she had a costume party and I had the honor of painting faces. As a former art teacher this was fun for me! Dressing up and art!? I wanted to wear something comfortable because she had invited the entire second grade and some neighbors. There were thirty kids that attended in all!
So, I grabbed a set of jean overalls and threw on a yellow tank top, but I needed a Minion eye!
Here is what I used:
Paper
Brown & Yellow Markers

Here is how I did it:
Trace around the canning band with a pencil.
Cut it out.
Create an eyelid with a yellow marker.
Use a black Sharpie to make an eyeball in the middle and to trace the eyelid.
Trace around the eyeball with a brown marker.
Glue the paper eye inside of the canning band.
Measured around your head with the elastic and cut accordingly.
Glue the elastic to the inside of each side of the canning lid, making sure the eyeball is right side up when finished.
Cut pipe cleaners to desired length of Minion hair.(I only had white pipe cleaners so I had to color mine black with the Sharpie).
Glue the pipe cleaners to the back of the elastic.
*9-10 are Optional Steps*
I ended up wearing a hat with my costume so the hair wasn’t even visible so that is something to keep in mind when you are creating your Minion eye headband!
