Split Top Bed Sheet Sets Costing you $$$!?
A few years ago my husband and I went to Sleep Number bed shopping and I am sure you know how this goes...you start in the nicest bed you have ever been in and everything goes down in comfort from there. So needless to say, we ended up investing in that first bed. The only thing I have ever regretted about the bed is the outrageous cost of the specific bedding I thought I needed to purchase.
It is a king size bed and has a split top, which means there is a split that goes halfway down the middle of the bed from the top. This allows for us to each separately sit up to watch tv, read, work, etc. There is the option to have the entire bed split down the middle but I am very happy with the partial split. We can both fit comfortably on one side if we choose to, I rarely notice the space in the bed, and we can sit up at different angles and at different times if we desire.
Because it is a split top bed regular sheets will not work and until a couple of years ago, I thought I needed to buy these special split top bed sheets from Sleep Number specifically! So I would wait for a sale and invest in a set when needed because they start at $159 a set not including tax or shipping. Unfortunately I am a restless sleep so I somehow wear through sheets quickly and the frustration of spending that much on a set and not having them last lead me to looking elsewhere.
I started with this very nice Royal Hotel Bedding Silky Soft, Viscose from Bamboo, and Cotton Blend Sheet Set saving a bit of money and free shipping but sadly I eventually wore through those. So I went back to Sleep Number thinking the brand or quality was the problem and things ended up the same as the with the other sets I had tried, with a worn out flat sheet on my side. I know now that obviously the brand or quality is not the issue in either set, it must be my restless sleeping!Products linked are my favorites or highly recommended for each project. That being said, I can't buy sheets at the above prices when I will inevitably need to replace them in a short period of time. By this time, with the point I was at, I had to give something more economical a shot. I did a little more digging and I found a set of split top king sheets that are a fraction of the cost of the others above. I bought the charcoal grey Clara Clark Flex Top King Sheets, 6 Piece Set, at the time I purchased the set it was under $40! 4 sets of these sheets for the price of 1 Sleep Number Set. I thought it was too good to be true, but thus far, I could not be happier with them! The sheets fit the bed perfectly, the color is exactly as expected, there are straps on ends to secure them in place, the set included 4 pillow cases, and most importantly they are the SOFTEST sheets I have ever slept in!
If you do not have a split top bed or have other beds in your home and are looking for a flat set I'd recommend giving this Clara Clark King Deep Pocket Sheets Set or find the size in this brand that works for you and give them a try! The softness is worth it, even for a night, lol!
